Eat my BUBBLES!!

This was our first year on swim team.  J and Lo had a great summer full of swimming.  J told me it's her favorite sport to do and Lo was best friends with everyone on the team.  We just finished up the season with Championships at a university in the area.  The kids thought it was awesome they were at a college and they both did GREAT!!!  I was so proud of them.  D and I took turns taking Meg and Z-man for walks around the campus and getting snacks.  They really did well for having to sit for 4.5 hours with not much to do or see.  :)  I'm excited for next season.  :)  Go Mocs!!!!!

  J was 8th in her freestyle at championships.  I think there were at least 50 girls there.  Maybe more.  She came in 1st in her heat and was given a metal for that race.  She did really well in all her other races too, but she was super happy about that one.  Logan came in 2nd in his heat on the backstroke and I think 11th overall at championships.  They really did GREAT.

We Went to the banquet tonight.At the banquet someone in each age group was given the most improved or the most spirited award.  J got the most improved in her age group and Lo got the Most Spirited--very fitting for both.  ;)  They had a GREAT time tonight and I think they are both proud of the work they did this summer.  :)

Turning the big 7!!!!!

My little man turned 7 today.  He get SOO excited about everything.  He was so excited the night before and couldn't sleep.  He LOVED that his friends came to play.  They ate pizza and played games.  Log wanted an ice cream cake, so we made an attempt.  It actually tasted REALLY good.  Log is such a GREAT boy.  He LOVES being active and having fun things to do.  He is friends with everyone and loves being around others.  He is a fantastic friend.  He loves to do flips and flops anywhere he can--trampoline, diving board, etc. etc.  ;)

We love you buddy!!!

My Pioneer Baby turns 3!!!

Meg is my Pioneer baby.  She was born on Pioneers day and I love that.  She is named after grandma's and it is a fitting day for her.  I LOVE the 3rd birthday.  It is my favorite birthday.  They are finally old enough to know what is going on and comprehend that it is THEIR special day--it shows all over their face.  I love every picture of her during her birthday shows just how proud and happy she was that it was her day.  I know she felt special.  :)  Meg is such a fun little bundle at the end of our family.  She is my snuggler and loves to be around other people.  She is learning to draw people and loves that she can draw an M and an E.  :)  She loves swimming and just started taking her first swim lesson now that she is 3.  She is trying to talk with big girl words instead of cry and is very coordinated in most things she does.  She melts everyone's heart and is our sweety pie on the end.  :)  We love you Meg!!!

Paris Holds the Key to my Heart! :)

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary (early) We headed to Paris and London.  It was sooo much fun.  London is Beautiful and Paris is busy with interesting things everywhere.  Our hotels were small and no A/C which was different for me.  We ate in Cafe's along the street and shopped along the way.  We walked the streets and saw the sights.  Learning our way around the 'tube' and the 'metro' were interesting (scary at times), but overall, it was a great trip.  I was impressed with Darin and his ability to speak French and communicate.



It was fun to see other people and how life is somewhere else.  My favorite parts were the Eiffel Tower and watching the musical 'WICKED' in London.  I missed the kids and would think of them often as we would see different things that reminded me of them.

Darin was bumped to 1st class on our flight home and he let me have it!  My first time in 1st class and I'm not sure I can ever go back! LOL.

Happy 9th Birthday J-bers!!!!!

I have an AWESOME 9 year old.  I love this girl so much.  J is such a great person.  This year she has enjoyed swimming a lot and helping take care of Meg.  She is always quick to find a way to help.  She is so talented and kind hearted.  

We were gone on her birthday this year, so she got two birthdays.  :)  Grandma Sue and Grandpa were here and helped her celebrate on her real birthday.  THEN when we got home, she had another one.  This time she invited some friends over and played a bunch of games.  She planned all the games herself and I think she had a great time! :)

Happy 9th J-bers.  We love you soooo much and love that we are a family! :)

1st SWIM Meet!!!

We have been kickin' hard at swim practice for a good week now.  :)  Summer is here and J and Lo are excited to be on the swim team here.  We had our first swim meet last night and after a few minor jitters and a learning curve of how these meets actually work, it was a great night.  :)  J swam the 25 freestyle, 100 M freestyle relay and 100 M Medley relay! :)  She did such a GREAT job and was super excited about it.  Lo swam the 25 freestyle and the 25 M backstroke. :)  He did AWESOME!!!  They both enjoyed hanging out with friends in between their events.  Once I get their times, I will post them, but I'm not sure what they are right now.

It was a bit chaotic when we got there.  I have never been to a swim meet before and I didn't know what to do or where to help, so all 3 of us were feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused.  BUT now I've got it down.  I'm set for the rest of the meets! :)

This made me HAPPY!!!

O.K., so honestly, today was kind of a rough day.  I didn't get much sleep last night and everything seems harder when 'no sleep' is in the equation.  BUT.  I can honestly say THIS made me happy today.  

We love our Sunday walks.  And having birds to feed is a bonus--well, for most of us.  Z-man is terrified! :)

oh, and it's funny to watch Meg.  She would throw a piece and then eat a piece... She had no fear! :)

Summer is in the AIR!!!

It was fun to get outside today and let the kids play in the water.  We put the sprinklers under the trampoline and they had fun jumping in the water! :)  Meg loved to do bummers and get a second bounce out of it.  Log and Z-man passed the ball back and forth.  And J had fun too (once she flushed the sunscreen out of her eye.  ..  :(   )  I don't know what it is, but I LOVE watching my kids play outside.  I don't know if it's because I enjoy the outside or if it because I played outside ALL the time as a kid, but I LOVE when my kids play outside and explore.  :)

J had her Spring concert for school! She has really loved learning the recorder this year. She learned a few extra songs and had a great time. :) She is such a WONDERFUL girl. She really had fun as you can see performing her concert!! ;)

Mother's Day

Mother's day is a special day.  I love to think of my own mom and how much I love her.  I love thinking of all the great things we've done together or talked about.  I love how supportive she has always been and how much patience and love she exhibited while teaching a very active, loud, tom-boy.   

I love my own children.  I love that they were so excited for Mother's day.   I have learned many lessons in life and being a mom is definitely an on-going lesson to learn, but I try each day and hope I'm doing things right.  

Also, a big shout out to D.  He helped the kids make cards, serve me, showed them how to treat me special.  :)  He really is the best for me!!

I sent this picture to the Grandma's for Mother's day this year.  :)  It's my favorite.
