baptism weekend
D-dude and his Dad, M

Dad, D-dude, Mom

Dad and D-dude

some of the fam. there to love and support.

Grandpa and d-dude

We had a really fun weekend. On Sunday, our nephew was baptized. It was soooo good to see. He was super happy and you could tell he was happy about the desicion he made. :) We are proud of you d-dude. :0)
Of course it was a blast seeing family also. The kids had soo much fun playing with their cousins. They crashed hard on our way home. At one point the cousins put in the movie jumangi. . . until we told them to change it to something different for the little kids. . . Well, aparently J saw enough of it to be scared out of her mind last night. She couldn't go to sleep and ended up coming into our room and snuggled with D for a while. We talked and laughed about silly things and eventually she was o.k. to go back to bed. :) She has SUCH a tender little spirit. She is a good girl.
We drove through a CRAZY storm on our way home. It made for a GREAT sunset though. Too bad I was driving and couldn't take a picture. I told D he should take a picture. He told me he would if he saw a funnel cloud!! :) LOL
Now we are on recovery mode. I'm trying to get my house cleaned again and we have already ran a bazillion erronds today. J went to the eye doctor for her Kindergarten entrance requirements this morning and she thought it was pretty cool. Everything is fine and she has 20/20 vision, so that is good. $45 for him to tell me that and sign a paper to take to the school. J got to take in her papers to the elementary school. She is SOO super excited for kindergarten, she can hardly contain her joy from exploding out of her body. :) SERIOUSLY!!!

so much for innocent Dora
J and L like to play computer games. They have their games on the favorite menu and can cruise around as they please. WELL, The other day, J decided to type DORA into the google page. It came up with the results and she proceeded to click on the picture she thought was the most interesting. This is what she found. . . . :) I'm scared that she thought it was really cool!!! :D LOL
Go DORA!

explore FRIDAY
We switched our explore day from Thurs. to Friday this week since the bowling alley was only open friday during the day. The kids had never been bowling and thought it would be a fun thing to experience. :) Soooo here are the shots. :) Fun day. I bought 2 games because I remembered how fast a game went in college when we would go bowling. . well, it took us FOREVER to do those 2 games. Most of our time was spent watching the ball go slllooowwwlly down the lane toward the pins. :) oh well. It was a blast!!!
I think I can carry this to the lane and DROP it really hard. :)

J figured out that it looks like I love you in sign language when you put the right fingers in the holes.

One of the MANY long waits for the ball to reach the pins.

J's "stance" while waiting for her ball to reach the pins.

All right. We both knocked over some pins.

Good game. . come again soon! (p.s. Z, once again slept through most of explore day!)
Oh, we LOVE the shoes. .. even in kid sizes. L really liked his and wanted to take them home to wear everyday. :)

gall stones
I officially have gall stones. I was given the choice to take my gall bladder out or keep it and deal with the attacks. For now, I'm keeping it since I don't have too many problems with it. If I have another huge attack, I may rethink it.
For those of you that don't have a gall bladder anymore. . .. does not having a gall bladder ffect you in a negative way?
Just wondering?

Sleeping beauties .. . and handsomes.
So life in the Palmer house is CRAZY to say the least. My house is rarely clean (or to my liking), there usually isn't much of a "down" time. And we seem to run, run, run.
However, once all that running is done, it's crash time. . and crash hard we do. I love hearing my kids laugh and play, but I also LOVE watching them as they peacefully sleep. :)
z-man wrapped up and snoozin' for the night.

J snuggled in tight for the night. One of her MANY "huggies" that she sleeps with. :)

L with his squeaky squeak (It's really a dog toy that a neighbor gave him. It has a squeaker inside of it, so he calls it his squeaky-squeak.) He won't sleep without it. :)

ultra sound
I went to my ultra sound today for my gall bladder and really didn't find anything out. The technitions are not allowed to say anything and it takes about 3 days to get it to the Dr. BLAH! So I guess I'll just wait it out. I'm still hurting. The severity comes and goes. WEIRD how it was all of a sudden.
I'll keep you posted.

bye bye hair
L's cutting job. . . . .

Mom's only option to "fix" L's cutting job. :)

So this morning, D and I were both sooo tired, so we set the kids up with a church video and crashed again. . . . NOT A GOOD IDEA!! when we woke up, L had found the scissors and decided to give himself a hair cut. . . every kid has to do it at least once, right? Well, his hair was pretty short to begin with (I just gave him a hair cut last week or so.) So he cut it in chunks clear down to the the skin. there was nothing really to do, but shave it all off. Now he looks like Uncle Chris!! :) He was pretty sensative about it as people would ask him at church. . . now he is o.k. He kept asking me if his hair would grow back??? :) Of course! I had a hard time getting it all even around his head since I didn't use an attachment on the buzzer. It reminded me of Monster's when they have to shave the monster that has a sock on him. After they shave him, he's all patchy, etc. . . kinda funny. :)
I think he looks pretty cute. It will definitely be cool for summer!! :) I love my little exploring man!!! He finds just about everything to try out. :) We love you, L.

My tummy's crying for food
So, I have to write about this so that in 20 years, I can remember to tell L. I think it's always soooo funny whenever I ask L to do something (Like clean. . . :D) He tells me in such a sad, sad voice with such sad, sad eyes, "But mommy, my tummy is crying for food." I love how he blames it on his tummy. . . . :) It's not, "I'M crying for food." It's, "My TUMMY" that is crying for food. I need to record it sometime, because he just gets the saddest little look and voice. . it cracks me up!
Anyway, . . speaking of tummies, On Friday I started having abdominal and back pain. I didn't think much of it, but by the time I went to bed, I couldn't stand the pain. I took tylonal and motrin and it still didn't help. I was up until about 4 a.m. until I finally crashed. I took 2 baths in the night hoping the warm water would help. . nope. Anyway sat. morning, I felt a bit better, but not significantly. I took myself to urgent care where they asked a bunch of questions like are you sure it's not cramps from your period (You would think after 16 years, I would know the difference). finally he started pushing on places on my tummy and I about jumped out of my seat when he pushed on my gall bladder. OUCH!!!!! After a bit more poking and prodding, he basically told me he thought it was my gall bladder, but really couldn't diagnose the exactness (stones, infection, etc.) without an ultrasound. So he wrote me a RX for an ultrasound at the hospital.. . guess what? the hospital doesn't do ultrasounds over the weekend. So he wrote me a rx for some pain killers that work really well, but make me super loopy. :) I haven't taken a pain killer since early this morning. I still hurt a bit, but not as bad. So now I'm trying to decide if I should really go in for an ultrasound tomorrow or not. Any advice???
D was amazing on Sat. He took care of all the kids while I layed in bed. He also had many callers wanting to see his home, so he showed the home to numerous people and worked at getting paperwork done, etc. He was super busy with lots on his plate and he still took great care of me. I'm SOOOO blessed and lucky to have him. He is an amazing husband and dad. I love laughing with him and exploring life with him. I'm so glad that we get to spend eternity with each other. :) I've learned so much from him and I can truely say that I am a better person because of the things he has taught me and the things we have done together. :) . . . Thanks for listening to my ode to D. He really is the BEST!!!
Well, I better get to sleep. the kids wake up at the crack of dawn regardless of when we put them to bed. . . o.k. so L wakes up at the crack of dawn, the other two are a bit better. :)

Explore day
Sooo, we have made Thursdays our explore day. We go somewhere or experience something new. Today we decided to venture to a new park. I looked a few up on line and decided to go to a park that is on the river front. It was pretty fun. I loved being right by the Ohio River. There is a bike trail that J and L rode their bikes on and I pushed Z in his stroller. After a nice walk around the trail and stopping at every little exercise place, we ventured to the playground. J and L had a blast and of course Z-man slept right through it. :) ahh, the life to sleep when you want. I would love to take a day and just SLEEP! I think I get enough sleep, but I could always sleep more. . Oh well, my kids are worth it. :)
Hope you enjoyed the pictures from the great adventure . . . to a new park! :)

4th of July fun!
We had a great time over the 4th of July. We headed to my sister's house on the 3rd and had a fabulous cook out with her. We were planning on going to a parade and great free festival on the 4th, but got rained out. We decided to NOT let it rain on our parade. . . and made our own. J and cousin L were candy throwers, my sister V was the flag holder, Uncle D was the band director, Kzizzle, skjzizzle, G and T were band members (it was great.. . they actually played a real song.), I was Miss Boone County, L was Palmer playhouse president 2008, and D was the shriner at the end of the parade. Z-man was a spectator.
After an eventful morning, we packed up and headed to camp with the palmers. We had a blast as always. D and I cooked breakfast for everyone, so it was fun to do something together. The kids had a blast riding on the "mule" with Uncle D and neighbor, playing cards, flying mini kites, and running all around the fields. J and I were educated on how to use the bathroom without peeing all over ourselves. :) that is always a plus. and L thinks peeing in the woods is the greatest thing in the world--must be a boy thing. :D
On the 5th, we headed to Cave Run and played in the lake until it started to rain on us once again. :D We packed up and headed for home. We got home in time to clean up and get things in order before sending the kids to sleep. D's brother and kids stayed with us that night also, so it was fun watching the fireworks from our house while the kids rode bikes and played.
It really was a great weekend. :D . . . and here are the pictures to prove it! :)
The parade!!!!!

J and sparklers!!

L and sparklers!

Z-man and I snoozin' at my sister's house.

Soooo much to do in the woods, yet 4 boys squished into two chairs playing a video game the size of their hand.. . . ahhh boys!!!

The ring is on the finger
Well, I've been doing weight watchers on my own since Z-man was born. I did this after my other two also and lost the weight in about 3 weeks. WELL, I've been doing it for about 3 MONTHS now and still haven't lost all the weight. It is soooo slow this time. . . oh well. I guess it's coming off, even if it's slow.
anyway, I can officially get my wedding ring back on now. :) Go me. I have a LONG ways to go, but I'm making headway. . . SLOWLY. D's side of the family and I are having a biggest loser competition. I don't think I'll win because It's sooo slow going (I've only lost about 12 lbs), but I will have given it a good effort. :)
Speaking of biggest loser. . . can't wait for it to start again in October. . . any other fans???
