My baby is FIVE

Well, I've spent a good time thinking back on the last 5 years. I remember the day my sweet J was born and how much I loved her.. . . and how much my love has grown!!!

J loves order, rules, and organization. She LOVES playing with people. Any sort of structured activity excites her--like gymnastics, swimming lessons, and soccer. She enjoys making cards and doing crafts with mom. I love waking up to the daily cards telling me she loves me and that I'm her favorite mom. :) Lucky me. She loves trying to read and does really well. Her favorite part of Pre-school was school work.

It was such a beautiful day today. A sunny day for my sunny girl. She was so excited today and asked me every 10 mintues if it was time to watch for her friends to come. :)

She is such a great girl and I lOVE her so much. :)

happy birthday, babe! We love you. :)

Reward Night

Soo, the kids finally filled up their jars full of marbles to go to chuck E Cheese's. :) They were soooo excited. we met D there since it is close to his work. This was the kid's first time, so everything was new and VERY exciting. So much so, that they weren't too intersted in eating pizza. . . :)

Spider man, spider man. . hit the lights Mr. Spiderman!!!

Kablam!!! Elimination, Lack of Education (Fox and Hound quote!) There go the ducks!

Wack, wack, wack. . . :)

Logan's version of Skee Ball. Who needs to roll it? Just run up there and put it in the hole!!

run back and get another ball!!! :)

Help ME!!! I can't find the slide!!!!!!

Thanks chuck E.

We'll come back again soon!!!

We had a great time. :)

strawberry Jam

Well, we had an aventerous day of Jam making. . . and we're still not done. It was fun to see the kids help (and frusterating as they created a sticky mess.) But overall fun. J and L got to squish the strawberries as I put the rest of the stuff together. We got about half way done. I need to do another batch today. We're trying to get enough to last a year. (we eat a lot of PBJ's) :) and NOTHING beats homemade frozen strawberry jam. :)

We went shopping for a pinanta and b-day party stuff for Jordyn today. She invited her church class over to play in the sprinklers/pool/slip n slide, do a pinata, and eat cake tomorrow. She's SUPER excited for tomorrow. I can't believe my first baby turns 5 tomorrow. CRAZY!!! It should be a good day! :) :)
Well, It's been sooo busy lately. I can't even really tell you with what, but it seems like I'm busy ALL DAY LONG. :)

Enjoy your week!! :)

Fun at the Children's museum

We had a blast exploring the children's museum in Cincinnati yesterday. :) L liked the ball area best with lots of ropes and levers to pull and push to make the balls go different places. . . even a vacuum tube. :)

Jordyn like the "play house" area where she could pretend to be a mom and iron clothes take care of a baby, etc. :) So much fun.

I found my fingers

Z-man has found his fingers. He usually only sucks on them when he's uncomfertable in some way--diaper needs changed, hungry, or tired. :) I try to get a binki in when I see that because I don't want a finger sucker. It's easier to take a binki away than a finger. :) . . . Or in his case fingerS.
Z is doing really well. He got his 2 month shots the other day and has done really well. He cried when he got them, but other than that, no side affects. J was like that also--no reaction to vaccines. L always has EVERY reaction that they say could be possable and is miserable for a week. I HATE when L has to get his shots. :) oh well. Hopefully it will keep them healthy.
Z has slept 10 1/2 hours at night for the past 3 nights or so. :) He is doing really well. He likes to sleep. :) The Dr. said that since he's such a big baby, he will probably need to start rice cereal earlier than 4 months because he will get soo hungry during the day. hmm? We'll see. So far he's doing o.k. He weighed 14 lb 1 oz. He was in the 90th percentile for weight and height. he was in the 75th percentile for his head.
J is getting SUPER excited for her b-day and has the countdown. L is STILL getting his 2 year molars in. . . argghh. I can't WAIT until they come in. He was up 5 times last night. D got up with him most of the time. I think I was out of it, because I didn't hear some of them.
Well, that's about it. :)

Father's Day

We had a crazy busy Saturday full of yard projects and D's house. Sunday was fun. the kids were super excited to see D open his presents. :) J drew a picture of D in Primary saying he was her favorite blessing. :) Sweetheart.

D, L, and J gettting ready to open Father's day presents.

What is it???? A bag full of oatmeal cream cakes and nutter butters. Daddy's favorites.

D dropped his calculator the other day and broke it. He was soooo sad. this calculator had gotten him through ALL of college and the last 5 years of work. an engineers love of a calculator. I apparently got the wrong kind and we will be taking it back for the right one, but hey it's the thought that counts. :)

Happy Father's day, D. You are the BEST daddy!!! :) We love you.

Boot Camp

Well, I've definitely decided that losing the baby weight after baby 3 is much harder than after 1 and 2. (Especially when you visit your sister and they just made cookies!!! :) Still working on it though.

So I decided I should go get a GOOD workout at the gym today. I did their boot camp class and it kicked my trash!! It felt really good. We did a BAZILLION ladders/suicides (whatever you call them). tons of squats, ab work, and we ended with bleacher work. :) I'm having a hard time walking now. i'm sure tomorrow will be even worse. :) I'm going to still run tomorrow though so I can work out the soreness! :)

There was one lady there that was the suicide QUEEN!! She had such LONG legs and could get accross the gym in 2 seconds flat!! SERIOUSLY!! I tried my best to keep up, but my little short legs were NO match. I'll get her though someday!! :) ha ha.

Well, that's about it. :)

annoying compliment.

You may be wondering how a compliment can be annoying. . . well, I guess it wasn't exactly the compliment that was annoying as it was the situation.

I recently took the kids picture so I could have all three of them together. . . (see earlier posts). I wanted to get a few printed up for myself and others. I also wanted to get a few printed that I had created in photoshop to see how they turned out once they get printed.. . . Sooo, since I needed the pictures asap, I sent them to Walmart online and was going to go pick them up an hour later. Well, I get a call (which I couldn't answer because at that time ALL three of my children were either crying or needing something). it was walmart saying I couldn't pick up the pictures until I got the o.k. from the studio because the pictures were copyrighted. . . . hmmm? Well, I figured I would just go talk to them rather than try to explain over the phone. When I got there, the lady pulled out the pictures, went through them one by one with her fingers all over them and asked, "are you sure?" "YES, I'm sure." I explained to her how I did it, etc, etc. Well she proceeded to compliment me and go through the pictures AGAIN putting her fingers ALL over them. THEN, she called over the "head" picture taker and showed her all the pictures going through them all AGAIN. By this point, I just wanted to get my pictures and go before they got ruined. The "head" lady then put HER fingers all over them and said something to the affect that they look professional, blah, blah. WELL, I AM! I've taken photo classes, etc. THEN, the head lady dropped the picture and almost bent it trying to catch it. . . . as she walked away, she said, "She still has to sign a copyright paper. Sooo, I signed a paper swearing these pictures were mine and the copyright belonged to me. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!

Sooo, I'm complimented that they thought it was taken at a studio by a professional photographer, but I came home with fingerprinted pictures and a lot of hassle. As if only bad pictures can be submitted to walmart for printing. :) A little annoying. It's typical walmart, and yet I still keep going back. . . hmm. oh well. :)

Sooo, that's my annoying compliment. :)

Saturday fun!

We had a fun weekend. On Saturday Morning, we decided to make pumpkin muffins/bread. One of our favorites. The kids LOVE licking the beaters when we are done. :)

Later, we watched these two cute boys while their mom and dad went to the temple in Louisville. They had a great time swimming and playing. They are good boys.

On sunday, we had a new couple in our ward over for dinner. They just moved here from BYU to work at the same company D works for. . . actually D recruited him while he was in Utah this last fall recruiting. It was fun to get to know them. They are fun.

D is traveling most of this week, so we are trying to think of fun things for the kids. . . :)

Well, that's about it. We miss you, D. :)

Blue wisp

Ahh date night. We swapped babysitting with another family in our church so we could have a date night. D told me he would plan it. All he told me was to wear something stylish--(I'm not sure I really have anything stylish). Well, we had talked a while ago about going to a jazz club. . . . so that's where we went. We decided that a lot of it was organized chaos. . :) but kinda cool anyway. It was a pianist, a bass player, and a drummist. We decided we like it when they have singers and brass intruments better, but it was still pretty cool. Very Jazz club feel to it. . . Interesting. :) . . .
Sooooo fun to go with D on a date. I LOVE dates with him. I love doing family things too, but I love, love, love being with D. We have a lot of fun together.
Now we are watching 2 cute boys while their mom and dad go to the temple in Louisville. :) The kids are having fun too. :)

4 for 1

Awww, the joys of photoshop. How did anyone ever take pictures before the invention of digital and photoshop. I decided to take the kids picture today and I took a bazillion pictures. The picture below is a combination of 4 different photos. 4 partially good photos make one good one. :) So with a lot of help from photoshop, we have a cute kid picture. Have I ever told you how much I love photoshop?? It is a great hobby, except I spend too much time at it some days.

We set up a little pool outside and the kids have been loving it. It has been SOOO humid the past couple of days. I sweat all the time. I need to figure out how to stay dry in humid conditions. I shower, but never quite dry off. Yuck huh? oh well.

So has anyone used the kaboom toilet bowl cleaner? I tried one out on one of my toilets and it's GREAT. They are a bit pricy at $8, but totally worth it. Even under the rim is nice and white. :) Ahhh, the joys of a clean toilet without actually cleaning it. :) Who invents these things??? They are great.

Z man is doing great. We've been trying to figure out a schedule for him, but he doesn't really seem to want to do that. He does have a bit of a routine down, the mornings are sparatic--sleeping and eating on and off. I try to feed him when he wakes up to stay in the eat/play/sleep routine but he sort of cat naps in the morning, so I feel like I'm feeding him an ounce every couple of hours. . . weird. Then he poops around noon or 1 (sure everyone wanted to know that!!!!) and then he plays until about 2-3, drinks a great big bottle, plays for about 10 minutes before crashing for 3 hours. He is awake around 5:30 p.m. eats, plays for a couple of hours and goes to bed around 7 or 7:30. So he's pretty set in the afternoon, but the mornings are a bit crazy. Maybe that's because our mornings as a family are a bit crazy--going to the gym, shopping, etc. and the afternoon is our kick back at home time. :) hmm? who knows. He is sleeping a consistant 8 hours and sometimes 9 hours at night. He is pretty happy for the most part.

L is still trying to get his molars in and sleeps worse than Z-man right now. Last night, he was up about 4 times. One of these days everyone will sleep through the whole night and I will probably wake up and not know what to do with myself in the middle of the night. :) It's worth it though.

J is counting down the days until her b-day. she has her whole party planned. she REALLY wants to do a pinata and slip n slide with her friends. Of course presents and cake! :)

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, we had some CRAZY thunder and lightening. It rained and pored. We had flooding, tornados, and crazy lightening hitting random things. It was a bit crazy, but kinda fun at the same time. Our little creek rose SOOO high. For those of you who know what our creek usually looks like, here is a picture to compare it too. Usually our creek is a trickle of water. It comes NOWHERE near the big tree the water eventually engulfed. All of our new trees and bushes we planted by the creek were completely covered in water. It was crazy!

Well, that's about all for now. Fun times at the Palmers. :)
