Covid 19

March brought a change to our lives that was unexpected.  We first heard of a new virus in China that was deadly and affecting the population in great numbers.  It is a virus that causes great respiratory issues as well as neurological.

Travel was suspended from and to countries or even neighboring states.  School, restaurants, or any place that had mass gatherings were canceled.  All that could work from home were mandated to do so. Church was now to be at home.  L prepares the sacrament, D blesses it, and Z passes it.  We prepare talks, and listen to sunday school via Zoom.

The kids began distance learning.  Everything was online.  It was an adjustment for both teachers and students.

We hunkered down in our homes, social distancing.  It has been a very unusual time.

Monique and I would have groceries delivered from different stores and we would get what the other needed from that store.  When Monique would come to the door, everyone was so excited... yes, we love Monique, but to see another human was great.

Little by little, stores began to open--not to full capacity.  And as things began to open up, we began to venture with friends, slowly.  We would have one or two families over to swim.  No really indoor activity.  The youth were just allowed 1 activity this month.  They were thrilled.

It is now August.  The kids have returned to school, but must wear masks at all times.  There are plans in place if the virus numbers start to rise.  They will begin an every other day of online/in person if the number of virus accounts rise.  If they continue to rise, everyone will stay home and do online school once again.

The reports of how serious this virus is varies greatly.  Some say it is just a bad flu.  Others it is deadly.  It is hard to know what to believe.  Every doctor and citizen seem to have a different opinion.  We are doing out best to live by the spirit.

It has been a weird time in life.  We are hoping that as vaccines and the election come about, life will return to more of what we know as normal.

I have to admit, however, I loved that all the extra things were canceled.  I love that our calendar was wiped clean and that we spent so much time and so many evenings as a family.  Family time came from this weird pandemic.

I love my little family.  I pray for their safety and health.  Here are 1st day pictures.
